In the context of inclusiveness, I think especially optimistic merge is worth attention. It creates far better environment then defensive, pessimistic merge approach, because of dynamics of power and extra context switching that is involved in delivering and keeping in mind any task which needs to go threw a few rounds of code review before being merged.
